Summary:

The clinical practitioner has a basic knowledge of pathophysiology, the aging process, and the use of the nursing process in the rehabilitation setting.

Essential Functions:

  • Administer nursing care to the patients and/or plans, directs and coordinates the nursing care of a group of mid-adolescents, adults and geriatric physical medicine rehabilitation patients from age 15 and up via the nursing process
  • Collaborate with other nursing resources and the health team
  • Instruct patients and families in procedures and health care practices and makes referrals for continuing care after discharge
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Current State of Indiana license as a Registered Nurse is required
  • CPR license required - must receive CPR training in accordance with American Heart Association Standards resulting in receipt of course completion card upon hire and maintain current thereafter
  • Direct patient care positions require direct patient care experience in preceding five years
  • Direct patient care experience in preceding five years.
  • Incumbent must successfully complete nursing orientation objectives. School of Nursing graduate is required, Bachelor of Nursing degree is encouraged.
  • Med/surg experience preferred
