The Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana is located on the northwest side of Indianapolis. RHI provides quality service to those facing life-changing injuries or illness. Summary:

This position is responsible for providing on-site leadership and facilitation for
outpatient registration and communications. This position exists to provide support
to the patient, family, payer representatives, medical and allied health team
personnel and the organization in achieving optimal customer satisfaction and
optimal management of financial resources. The position provides the necessary
office support and coordination of daily operations of office systems for the
leadership of assigned department.

Essential Functions:

Provides supervision and direction of Pt Access staff. Involved with hiring
new staff, conducting annual evaluations and disciplinary action if needed.
Coordinates the allocation of workload among associates and fills in where
needed to ensure smooth daily operations. Assists in promptly addressing
patient satisfaction issues.

Assists the manager in identifying and implementing process improvements
and development/revision of policies and procedures.

Coordinates audits to ensure that compliance and accuracy is being met
within the patient access department.

Assists in maintaining a complete and accurate medical record so that
material or information may be immediately provided. Assists in maintaining
and closing charts including auditing charts for missing signed Plans of Care
and Orders before discharging patient within specialty programs. Provides
copies of documentation to referral sources and payer representatives in a
timely manner. Provides tracking and follow-up for physician signatures on
Plan of Care and/or Reports. Serves as courier for program/service
materials as required.

Accepts and reconciles payments on the Daily Journal at the end of the day,
and completes documentation for deposit in accordance with outlined
procedures. Collects billing sheets and submits to outside billing company,
noting any payments that were received from the client on the billing sheet.

Provides direct support for program staff, and performs office duties including composing and/or editing letters, typing and distributing correspondence and reports, answering the telephone, forwarding calls and answering questions of a routine nature.

Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

Must have previous leadership/management experience

Minimum of one year rehabilitation, hospital or nursing home experience

Knowledge of payer sources and experience with healthcare admissions and scheduling

Associates level preferred
